I’ll be running another block of ‘Art for Beginners’ classes at Forgan Arts Centre at Newport on Tay, Fife DD6 8RA on Wednesday evenings. These classes are proving popular, with this being block 5. Participants often have a broad range of experience – some have never done any art before, while others return from previous blocks. Through a mix of demonstrations and with guidance, everyone is encouraged to progress and develop their own style of work in a fun and supportive atmosphere, with activities that are accessible for everyone. Basic principles such as choice and use of materials, drawing skills, composition, perspective and use of colour are covered, and classes have an underlying theme, often suggested by those taking part. Here’s the dates: August 15th, 22nd, 29th, September 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th (7-9pm). Contact the arts centre to book.
A great morning with everyone who took part in the half day outdoor sketching session at the Centre for Stewardship, Falkland today. A beautiful and inspiring location at the orchard, where the lovely warm breeze added to the peaceful atmosphere. Some great pieces produced, especially from those not very familiar with using charcoal. Well done all!
Well done to all the participants for producing some really great work during the ‘Bringing the Outdoors In’ art session at the Centre for Stewardship on Wednesday. Even more inspiring as some folk hadn’t done any art at all since school! Let’s keep up the creativity!
Join me on Saturday 15th September 2018 for a day where you will learn about using wood fresh from the forest, to create your own unique spoon or spatula with simple carving tools and techniques. Off the Rails Arthouse at Ladybank, Fife is the venue – a fantastic creative space to gather and learn. More details HERE.
There are now three dates where you can immerse yourself in creativity within the stunning natural surroundings of Falkland Estate, at the Centre for Stewardship in Fife. Based at the Stables Craft Hub, there’s something to suit complete beginners through to those who’ve done some painting or drawing before. Full details in the poster, below. See you there!
